The business systems analyst is a detail-oriented, highly motivated individual with excellent analytical, organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills. MAJOR ELEMENTS OF THE ROLE:
- Continuously monitor support queues for key IT systems used by our business users for lead management and mortgage processing
 - Triage and respond to support tickets and issues in a timely manner
 - Analyze reported issues for severity and impact and document for bug fixes
 - Track reported issue resolution progress and provide status updates, updating users and closing support tickets
 - Identify common issues and create help documentation (e.g. cheat sheets, how to's)
 - Work with developers and product owners to refine acceptance criteria for user stories
 - Work with developers to understand the scope of delivery changes to ensure full test coverage
 - Create requirements mapping, test plans and test cases and execute quality assurance testing
 
- Post-secondary education or a technology-related diploma, with 2-3 years experience in business or system analysis
 - Experience with defining and executing test cases during quality assurance testing
 - Experience in system support
 - Familiarity with data analysis techniques
 - Familiarity with programming and database concepts would be considered an asset
 - Understanding of financial and banking concepts including mortgages, interest rates, property appraisals, credit assessment and mortgage products

The candidate will be working in the department of PnL Technology Wholesale Finance IT T&O.
They build and maintain PLANET – PNL analysis & exploration toolkit. They collect trade positions from derivate trading systems, PNL calculations, analyze past and present prices, and compare. PnL gets decomposed into components such as what is market looking like, smartness of trader, etc. It is then fed into finance ledger systems
The team deals with one of the largest data systems within RBC. Their last count, they were dealing with 17TB of data. There are a few million records of data sets – this data comes from trading set, fed into system, analyze how does it change in between – some form of reconciliation in the middle, what is the gap/difference. Over the next few years, the amount of data will be increasing exponentially.
