Location: (Remote for now. Will be expected to work 2 days per week out of the 1 President’s Choice Circle, Brampton ON office when restrictions are lifted)

Brief description of duties:

 

Reporting to the Product Manager and Product Owner, the Scrum Master will serve the Scrum Team and the organization to ensure that the product goal is achieved, removing any obstacles (roadblocks) identified by the team and establishing an environment where the team is free to focus on the work of producing high-value increments that will generate the desired outcome.

• Accountable for addressing any team dynamics that may have an impact on the sprint/release
• Coach the Product Owner to create a shared understanding of the Product Vision
• Assists the team is focusing on creating high-value increments that meet the Definition of Done
• Ability to negotiate across different levels to generate the desired outcome
• Facilitate discussions and collaboration between stakeholders, decision making, and conflict resolution
• Assisting with internal and external communication, improving transparency, and radiating information
• Support the Product owner in finding techniques for effective Product Backlog management

 

 

MUST haves:

 

• Experience playing the Scrum Master / Agile Facilitator role for at least one year for a software development team that was diligently applying Agile/Scrum principles, practices, and theory
• Experience coordinating and facilitating effective and timely meetings (daily scrum, sprint planning, sprint demo, and retrospective)
• Ability to resolve and/or escalate issues and impediments in a timely fashion
• Ability to communicate difficult/sensitive information tactfully
• Consistently communicate succinct, clear, quality information to capture interest, inform, and gain support, to all levels, across the enterprise
• Knowledge of other Agile approaches: XP, Kanban, Lean, FDD, etc. and/or experience with widely successful Agile techniques: User Stories, ATDD, TDD, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, Continuous Testing, Pairing, Automated Testing, Agile Games

 

Nice to haves:

  • CSM (Certified Scrum Master)
