What is the opportunity?

 

The Utilities Analyst will be responsible for assisting in resolving margin disputes as a result of exposure differences on OTC uncleared Derivative trades.  The incumbent will create daily reconciliation reports and be responsible for monitoring, reporting and escalation of trade and portfolio level exposure differences keeping in compliance with regulatory guidelines for in scope counterparties including EMIR, CFTC, SEC.

 

What will you do?

 

  • Produce exposure reconciliations for in-scope counterparties according to regulatory guidelines including ageing and reasons for differences
  • Track and monitor frequency of required reconciliations based on counterparty trade volumes in compliance with industry regulations
  • Partner with IT to reduce systemic risk and increase operational efficiencies in the daily process
  • Case Management and reporting of exposure differences in TriResolve and using EUC tools
  • Escalating disputes/discrepancies as per Standing Orders and department Operating Procedures
  • Liaise with internal stakeholders and counterparties to ensure timely resolution of exposure differences in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Assist in producing management reporting for KPI purposes
  • Proactively advise margin teams on potential disputes through the day
  • Cross-train as required on additional control functions including CSA onboarding

 

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

 

  • 1-2  years’ experience in an operations/middle office role ideally with Derivatives and/or reconciliation
  • College or University Diploma/degree
  • Advanced EXCEL skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task while adhering to deadlines
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • Good understanding of the OTC margining workflow under the ISDA-CSA protocols

 

Nice-to-have:

 

  • Experience with Database queries for reporting
  • Familiarity with pricing and valuations of Over the Counter Derivatives and risks associated with collateralisation of these products
  • Management Information reporting
  • Familiarity with COLLINE, TriResolve, Acadia
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements for OTC Derivative reconciliations across regimes in scope
  • Understanding of Over the Counter Derivative trading and settlement process
  • Understanding of risks and controls framework as it applies to Capital Markets and the OTC Derivative markets
