Title: Quality Assurance Lead
Term: 8 months (with extension) – 37.5 hours/Week

Brief Description of Duties:

 

  1. Test Strategy and Planning:
  • Develop, own, and deliver a comprehensive test strategy for Global Asset Management (GAM) acquisition integration, considering project requirements, timelines, resources, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with other lines of business (LOBs), workstreams, business analysts, developers, and project managers to define and own test objectives, priorities, and success criteria.
  • Create test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on functional, regulatory, and technical specifications. Create Playbook and Runbooks.
  • Collaborate with PMs to track all code deliveries, create test plans, test cases, and test scripts based on functional, regulatory, and technical specifications.
  •  Align with all other workstreams, Enterprise technology teams, and guidelines.

 

  1. Stakeholder Engagement, and Hands-on delivery:
  • Assign tasks, set clear expectations, and monitor team performance.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance work environment, encouraging knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

 

  1. Test Execution and Management:
  •  Coordinate and prioritize testing activities, ensuring optimal test coverage.
  •  Execute test cases and review test results, identifying discrepancies, defects, and potential risks.
    Track defects through resolution.
  •  Manage and maintain test environments, ensuring data integrity and proper configuration.
  •  Monitor and report on testing progress, providing accurate and timely status updates to project stakeholders.

 

  1. Regulatory Compliance:
  •  Ensure that the software solutions adhere to relevant regulatory requirements (eg Fintrac, privacy, etc)
  •  Collaborate with compliance officers and legal teams to ensure compliance throughout the testing process.
  •  Identify and address any compliance-related issues or risks, working closely with the development and business teams.

 

  1. Test Automation and Tools:
  • Identify opportunities for test automation and implement efficient test automation frameworks and tools specific to financial asset management.
  • Collaborate with developers to ensure testability and implement unit tests, integration tests, and end-to-end tests

 

  1. Quality Assurance:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including developers, business analysts, and product managers, to ensure high quality standards and best practices.
  • Conduct root cause analysis of defects and collaborate with the team to implement preventive measures.
  • Continuously improve testing processes and methodologies to enhance overall quality and efficiency.

 

Must Haves: 

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Test Lead or in a similar role, specifically in asset management or investment software testing, with a track record of successful test management
  • Strong knowledge of software testing concepts, methodologies, tools, and asset management processes.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance frameworks in the financial industry.
  • Experience leading and managing a team of testers.
  • Proficiency in test management tools and defect tracking systems.
  • Familiarity with test automation frameworks and tools.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, regulatory-driven environment.

 

Nice to Haves: 

 

  • Relevant certifications such as ISTQB or similar certification is a plus.

 

Soft Skills: 

 

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
