Brief Description on the Role:

Scrum Master Responsibilities:

  • Provide subject matter expertise and guidance on specific project methods. Prepares training materials, training sessions on project delivery methodology in accordance with guidelines. Acquires, customizes, documents, integrates, communicates and implements comprehensive IT standards and guidelines.

 

General Skills:

  • Knowledge and experience with Agile Information and Information Technology (I&IT) methods and techniques associated with the development and implementation of enterprise architecture frameworks
  • Communication, facilitation, negotiation, consensus building, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated commitment and proven ability to do effective stakeholder management
  • Knowledgeable and experience in Agile methodology and ability to educate others
  • Experience facilitating the relationships between the Agile team and product owner and maintaining a safe working environment for the team by helping with conflict resolution
  • Experience leading the Agile methodology and development teams in self-organization and identifying and filling in blanks in the framework
  • Experience mentoring and coaching the teams on removing impediments
  • Experience capturing feedback and documenting sprint reviews to administer project goals and improve team performance

 

Desirable Skills:

  • Project Methodology certifications such as Agile Coach, Scrum Master, Lean Six Sigma Black/Green/Yellow Belt, etc.

Project Management and Methodology (30%)

  •  Provides holistic leadership across business analysis, project outcomes, and team of business analysts aligning their expertise with agile methodologies and ensuring effective collaboration.
  • Acts as a central point of communication, ensuring that the BAs collaborate seamlessly with internal/external stakeholders and development teams.
  •  Identifies and remove impediments that could hinder the team’s progress, ensuring a smooth workflow.
  • Interacts with the business stakeholders and subject matter experts to understand their requirements through gathering, documenting, and analyzing business needs and requirements.
  •  Manage / groom product backlog based on user needs / prioritization input
  •  Defines, manages and enforces scrum process and methodology
  •  Single point of contact for business analysis, agile leadership, and team coordination minimizing communication gaps, reducing the risk of misinterpretation, and promote more effective project outcomes.
  • Prepares training materials, training sessions on project delivery methodology in accordance with guidelines
  • Knowledgeable and experience in Agile methodology and ability to educate others

Business Analysis (15%)

  • Experience writing business cases including current state assessments, establishing goals, outcomes and creating plans to achieve them.
  •  Experience creating cost benefit analyses
  •  Experience creating process & service measures and indicators
  •  Experience designing services and business processes for new business areas
  •  Experience creating processes, swim lanes etc. according to industry standard techniques and methodologies
  • Experience facilitating in-depth workshops to elicit, review, document and confirm business requirements, business process reengineering, business models, business rules and user interface design, in order to create the technical framework/specifications

Project Planning and Coordination (20%)

  • Ability to track and report on deliverables across multiple projects
  • Experience managing and coordinating project monitoring, anticipates and troubleshoots issues, provides ongoing expertise, resolves problems and provides project effectiveness
  • Experience facilitating the relationships between the Agile team and product owner and maintaining a safe working environment for the team by helping with conflict resolution
  • Ability to monitor and forecast project costs and provide reporting and input to ensure targets are met
  • Ability to promote I&IT project management best practices and adherence to standard methodologies
  • Ability to Create and track integrated project plans (including scope, schedule, and resources)
  • Monitor and report on project progress through stand-ups and weekly status updates
  • Track project level Risks, Issues, Actions and Decisions and report it up to the program manager
  • Create detailed iteration / sprint plans and manage sprint execution from kickoff through retrospective
  • Experience providing onboarding and orientation of new staff / project resources
  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle, software design, development and integration, database concepts, user interface design principle, change management, quality assurance, risk management, disaster recovery planning, business continuity planning

Communications (15%)

  • Strong communication skills to prepare documentation, including but not limited to; reports, reviews, assessments
  • Ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively and in a user friendly manner; maintain a high level of customer service to both internal and external clients
  • Ability to communicate designs and development in clear and understandable manner
