Brief description of duties:

This Senior Consultant/Developer will mainly create, test and deploy Java transformations from AB Initio code for migration into Informatica BDM/DEI. This migration is like for like, so the end result of new products re-written in Informatica must produce the same results as the existing products written in AB Initio.

Support in the Ab Initio area will be provided by the client when required, so some knowledge of AB Initio is an asset but it is not a mandatory requirement for this consultant

So, in summary, the main deliverables are:

• Develop complex Java transformations in Informatica BDM for conversion from Ab Initio graphs
• Test the new Java transformations thoroughly to ensure the results are exactly the same as before the migration to Informatica
• Create scripts/workflows to execute the new Java transformations properly in a UAT and Production environments ready for ongoing data releases
• Provide technical direction to the team regarding Java best practices that will help the team deliver on time and high-quality deliverables
• Create documentation for the new application environment, technical design, and ETL mappings

MUST haves:

• Profound knowledge and experience in developing in:
  • Oracle DB / pl/SQL
  • Java (in the context of ETL / data processing)
  • Unix shell scripting
• Proven ability to effectively manage deliverables on time and first time right
• Ability to handle the heavy workload
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with logical and good attitude team player with strong oral and interpersonal skills
