Full Stack Developer

Typical Day in Role:

• Part of a team that will be working to migrate over 50 cloud-based applications from PCF to Atlas
• Work with DevOps teams to support cloud migration activities
• Make necessary changes based on source code (configuration side not functionality side)
• Squad model – 4 squads, 1 dev assigned to each squad which will be assigned to a group of applications
• Most apps use JavaScript, many still using Java
• Low likelihood of database migration
• Tech stack: JavaScript, ReactJS, NodeJS, Java and Cloud Applications
• Full stack role – 50/50 front end and back-end based on type of application they will be working on
• Set up the local development environment in machines: including node with NPM/Yarn, Java Gradle/maven, etc.
• Debug and analyze the application logs from local or dev environment
• Analyze and oversee the team’s development efforts working towards successful code delivery
• Provide technical leadership to teammates through coaching and mentorship
• Maintain high standards of software quality within the team by establishing good practices and habits
• Collaborate with other software developers, business analysts and software architects to plan, design, develop, test, and maintain different applications
• Design, develop, and unit test applications in accordance with established standards

Candidate Requirements/Must Have Skills:

• 10+ years’ progressive working experience as a Full Stack Developer
• 2+ years’ experience with either ReactJS or NodeJS or Java/JavaScript (either 1 is fine but if have experience with more/all 3 will be a strong asset)
• 1+ years’ experience with Cloud applications

Nice-To-Have Skills:

• Experience with cloud migration projects
• Cloud apps experience: Google, Kubernetes
• Knowledge of PCF
• Extensive experience in designing and developing enterprise grade software
• Experience from FI/banking
• Experience with build and deployment of applications with NPM/Yarn, Java Gradle/maven

Soft Skills Required:

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Time management skills with the ability to handle multiple assignments

Education:

• Bachelor’s in technical field

Best VS. Average Candidate:

Ideal candidate has strong programming skills, has recently worked on cloud migration projects, using same tech stack as JD so the learning curve would not be so big; would know what to expect when it comes to security, compliance etc.; looking for a senior Dev who preferably has RECENT experience with the listed tech stack is ideal
