The purpose of this RFS is to acquire one Software Developer – ETL – Junior to provide development and technical support as a member of the Business Intelligence and Data Analytics team.

Cluster Applications Branch (CAB) provides leadership in the planning, development, delivery and support of applications through services such as consulting and collaboration with clients and their business planning. The branch provides expertise to ensure the IT solutions align with program goals and commitments. CAB is also partnering with MOF to upgrade the current Cognos application.

Assignment Scope: Technical Knowledge and Skills: 40%

• You have application development experience with the IBM suite of products, including DataStage, Cognos and DB2, as well as knowledge in more than one field (e.g. systems analysis, design, development, testing, implementation, installation, operational techniques) to execute diverse application development activities and make technical recommendations.
• You have an ability to gain understanding of other technologies when needed.
• You have an understanding of data integration, database design, and data modelling. You have the ability to understand clients I IT needs and business environment to define the technical scope of work and provide on-going guidance to working groups.

Reasoning, Problem-Solving, Planning, Analyzing and Assessing Skills: 40%

• You can ensure that ongoing application development, technical work, operations and services are planned, scheduled, executed, monitored and evaluated.

Communication and Customer Service Skills: 20%

• You can write, explain and present technical reports and recommendations. You can establish effective working partnerships with team members.
