Brief Description on Duties:

Responsibilities Develops and implements the data architecture for application development in a complex and distributed environment, including the determination of the flow and distribution of data, the location of databases, and data access methods. Provides a standard common business vocabulary, expresses strategic data requirements, outlines high level integrated designs to meet these requirements, and aligns with the enterprise strategy and related business architecture. General Skills Knowledge and experience in information resource management tools and techniques Experience with at least two different platforms, operating systems, environments, database technologies, languages and communications protocols Knowledge of performance considerations for different database designs in different environments Experience in structured methodologies for the design, development and implementation of applications Experience in systems analysis and design in large or medium systems environments Experience in the use of Computer Aided Software Engineering (CASE) tools for the development and documentation of data architectures and detailed data models Experience in the use of data modelling methods and tools (e.g. ERWIN, VISIO, PowerDesigner) including a working knowledge of metadata structures, repository functions, and data dictionaries Knowledge and experience in the use of information retrieval packages Awareness of emerging I&IT trends and directions Experience in monitoring and enforcing data modelling/normalization standards Experience in developing enterprise architecture deliverables (e.g. models) Excellent analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills; verbal and written communication skills; interpersonal and negotiation skills A team player with a track record for meeting deadlines Desirable Skills Experience with middleware and gateways Experience in designing/developing an automated data distribution mechanism Knowledge and understanding of object-oriented analysis and design techniques. Experience and Skill Set Requirements

Technical Skills:

• Experience creating physical database designs and operates and experience administering database management systems (DBMS) including database optimization, capacity planning, installation and migration, database design, performance tuning, backup and recovery
• Experience cloud environments especially Azure
• Extensive hands on experience in Azure SQL Database experience, proficiency in T-SQL, understanding of SQL maintenance and audit, user and permissions management, performance management and tuning
• Hands on experience with the following technologies, certifications are an asset: Azure Data Factories, Databricks, Azure Synapse, Azure SQL, Cosmos DB, Oracle DBMS, along with Big Data/Data Lake/Hadoop experience
• Hands on experience with SSIS, SSRS, Talend, Informatica etc.
• Hands on experience working with NoSQL databases and formats (JSON, xml)

Experience:

• Experience in one or more programming languages
• Experience with custom build cloud development and microservices based architecture
• Experience with data migrations
• Experience in the use of information retrieval packages and proficiency with query languages
• Experience in monitoring and enforcing database rules
• Experience in Incident, Change and Configuration Management procedures

• Extensive experience in production Database Administration, Maintenance Optimization
• Subject matter expert in database design of the data warehouse or data marts.
• Experience and expert knowledge in technology and/or application required including installation, configuration, maintenance, upgrade (technology stack) and cloning
• Experience in designing/developing an automated data distribution mechanisms
• Knowledge and understanding of object-oriented analysis and design techniques.
• Experience in developing enterprise architecture deliverables (e.g. models) based
• Knowledge and understanding of Information Management principles, concepts, policies and practices
• Experience in impact analysis, implementation planning and implementation of technology or suite specific patches, maintenance packs and releases, and technology stack patch sets and releases
• Experience in technical design, planning and implementation of specific technology or suite
• Experience with database administration and working with vendors

Communication Skills:

• Strong communication skills to prepare documentation, including but not limited to: solution documentation, user manuals, reports, reviews, assessments
• Ability to present ideas and suggestions clearly and effectively and in a user-friendly manner; maintain a high level of customer service to both internal and external clients
• Ability to communicate technical designs and development in clear and understandable manner

Must Haves:

• Three days onsite per week is required. Must be comfortable with working outside the hours of 9-5 as required by the client.
