Brief description of duties:

• An industry review by the Financial Consumer Agency of Canada (FCAC) recommended changes to the Bank Act to strengthen financial consumer protections. The Agency also recommended provisions to enhance FCAC regulatory oversight of banking services offered to consumers. In December 2018, royal assent was given to Bill C-86, which contains new consumer protection provisions, the Financial Consumer Protection Framework (FCPF), as well as other enhancements.
• Working as a compliance reviewer the candidate will be analyzing what the requirements from the FCAC are to ensure that the changes being made by the client meet the requirements

MUST haves:

• Excellent oral English skills
• Banking or financial services experience in Canada
• Previous experience in Internal or External Audit, Internal Control, Legal or Compliance for a financial institution
• Risk Policy would also be another experience that would be commensurate
• Experience within one of the major FI’s is required, with knowledge and understanding of banking lines of business, products and operations is mandatory
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written) and strong ability to prepare, present and discuss findings and recommendations on issues clearly and concisely
• Strong analytical and evaluative skills to prepare and present findings
• Ability to read and ingest large volumes of information and identify gaps or inconsistencies
• Diligence and attention to detail, thorough, self-starter / self-reliant

Nice to haves:

• Experience reviewing compliance for IFRS, AODA, CASL, or other regulatory compliance projects for a Bank in Canada.
• Experience with consumer protection standards as it relates to banking
